Custom Work
Our talented and experienced technicians are able to install a wide variety of modifications to your bike.
Be advised that we only do conversions during the cooler months. During the busy season, you will be placed on a wait list until we are ready to begin conversions for the season. Those on the wait list will be contacted in the order that they reserved their place in line.
Pricing
Conversions and retrofits will generally cost from $1600 - $3000. Our price quotes include kit, batteries, programming, installation, and testing. This price is very specific to your project, so you won’t get a detailed price estimate until we talk to you and get a look at your bike.
Other custom modifications will usually be charged hourly. View our Service Page for our current labor rates.
If you have any questions or requests, feel free to contact us via phone or email!
Conversions
A conversion is the process of taking a conventional bike and outfitting it with a motor and battery to convert it into an E-Bike. This is a good option if you already have a bike you wish to keep, or if you have a specialty model such as a tricycle or recumbent.
A conversion may also be a good choice if you are unable to find an E-Bike that fits your needs. We can customize the project to your specifications!
We have conversion kits available ranging from 250W-750W, mid-drive or rear hub motor style.
Retrofits
A retrofit is basically a complete rebuild, and our best attempt to combat designed obsolescence.
This generally comes up when you have an E-Bike that has been discontinued (e.g. Bionx or EasyMotion), or is otherwise difficult or even impossible to get parts for.
We will remove all defunct systems and replace them with new components that are easier to find parts for.
Modifications
If you have a project with specific requirements, we can probably get it done!
Modifications range in complexity and are often unique to the situation at hand. Some examples include:
Accessory swap (pedals, handlebar, etc.)
Customized rear rack
Suspension installation
Drivetrain replacement/modification
Component alterations
Programming
Initial Estimate
Contact us and tell us what you want! One of our technicians will provide recommendations and a rough estimate of the cost.
Free Consultation
Bring in your bike for us to take a closer look at, and if applicable, to test ride our demo bike. You will receive a more detailed quote. If you decide to move forward, we require a non-refundable deposit of $1000 before we begin the project.
Wait for Parts
After we make any necessary orders, there will be a waiting period as we wait for your parts to arrive. We do not need your bike at this time, nor do we have the space to store it, so you will have to take it back home.
Project Begins
We will give you a call when the parts arrive. Bring your bike back in and then the work begins! We will provide you with a rough timeline and notify you of any large delays.
Finishing Touches
Come in to test out the finished product! As you get a feel for your new ride we can finely tune the bike to your needs by making adjustments to mechanical, electrical, or software elements.
Project Completion
After we have ensured you are satisfied with the result, simply pay the remainder of your balance and you are free to take off on your maiden voyage!
